How we choose to interact with the environment is an important decision we make everyday, both for our own sake and for the planet's. Modern practices continue to reduce soil health, biodiversity, scarce resources, and society's connection to the Earth as a whole. A large factor contributing to this dilemma is the lack of accessible information and actionable tools for people and organizations to use in understanding our environmental impact firsthand. Contemporary solutions are often too expensive, too cumbersome, and too uncertain to help us do our jobs.
Mesur.io founder and CTO Mike Prorock experienced these same frustrations 2 years ago when he bought his farm in Chapel Hill, NC . As a North Carolina native, Mike has always been focused on promoting regenerative agricultural practices. Despite all of the tools intended to help him farm, Mike realized that it was not only hard to access the variables that make farming successful, but it was also challenging to translate these variables and to understand what they were telling him. After numerous conversations with like-minded farmers, ranchers, and researchers, Mike realized that they all shared something in common: there was no platform to access environmental data and no usable solution to utilize this information to implement better sustainable practices.
So he built one himself to Give the Earth A Voice.
Mesur.io is positively impacting worldwide environmental resource usage. From germination to consumption, there are numerous data points available for us to use and to learn from. We help individuals and organizations build communities capable of ingesting this information at each stage of their process to help optimize resource usage by enabling better decision making with data.
